Located in the heart of Zhongli District, Taoyuan City, the project is an incubation of everyday life that invites users to illustrate their characters through the process of space-shaping.

The owner is a young couple who aspired to reinvent a living space with a mellow vibe that references their enthusiasm for old-fashioned elements, from vintage bars with dimming lights to their collections of lego bricks and antique furniture dotting the house.

Subtle and minimalist, the furnishing approach also allows the partially left-free space to breathe. The idea of situating a curved wall between the living room and the den is designed to widen the travel experience all the way into the private areas. The living room also serves as an exhibition space with a pair of curio cabinets that accentuate the owner's taste of life. The wood shutter, on the other hand, resonates with the serpentine millwork at the west end of the aisle, layering the light source and diversifying the expressions of the laid-back ambience. Instead of using mainstream ceiling lights and indirect lighting, we utilized customized light fixtures that are made of recycled glass in Taiwan and a series of 360° rotatable track lightings to suggest an interplay of light and shadow.

A thoughtful selection of materials that includes ratten, linen, timber and terrazzo gives modernity a chance to bring out the unadorned beauty of old stuff in the designed "home." This project provides a classic and adaptable organization of space that can fit for all seasons and moods of users at any time.
